About Jane Hiatt

Jane Hiatt is a transformational healer, hypnotherapist, and spiritual teacher whose work bridges the subconscious mind with soul-deep restoration. For over thirty years, she has guided people through hidden layers of trauma-- developmental, ancestral, even past-life--helping them rewrite limiting narratives and remember their true essence.

A practicing hypnotherapist since 1992 and ordained Unity minister since 2015, Jane draws on the sacred tools of love, imagination and storytelling to reach places traditional methods often can’t. Her treatments go beyond symptom relief, diving into the subconscious to uncover and heal what she calls story potions--the inherited beliefs that shape our lives until we consciously transform them.

Who am I?

I’ve written many professional bios over the years--the above is the latest. But because you are entrusting me with the gift of your time, exploring my website, and considering diving into one or more of my offerings, I want to reciprocate by entrusting you with a more personal self-description.

Since childhood, I’ve had a few passions that are like colorful threads that can be traced throughout my life: teaching, writing, creativity, spiritual connection, and mothering.

  • My earliest memory of teaching was age 7 when I propped my dollies and teddies into their seats and pinned their school papers to my mother’s drapes. After college I taught kids aged 10-14 for nine years--mostly English, specializing in the teaching of writing. Even after leaving a classroom, I continued to teach--children’s art, expressive dance, relationship classes, and many spiritual classes and programs. I am very creative and that translates to my teaching. Maybe someday I’ll tell you about the revolution I triggered in my classroom to teach Tale of Two Cities.

  • When I was ten, I used to write “Jeffrey” stories for my little brother. I got my first article published in the middle school newspaper. I went on to do a summer program at University of Amherst on writing and the teaching of writing. When I lived in Australia, I got a post graduate diploma in journalism. I’ve had at least a hundred articles published locally and now have authored three books and am working on the next one.

  • When I made my first communion at age 7, it felt like a mystical experience of connection with Jesus. I went on to enter the convent and while my peers were exploring the wild world of sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll that marked the 60’s and 70’s, I was diving into spirituality. I didn’t last in the convent, but thirty plus years later I was ordained as a Unity minister. I led a spiritual community for 14 years, learning more about spirituality than ever through the process of sharing my thoughts with others and cultivating spiritual community.

  • The oldest of eight kids, I thought I had already experienced enough motherhood to check it off the list at 17, so I entered the convent. But in fact, I wasn’t done at all. Raising two daughters and now having grandchildren has been the richest part of my life. I recognize that my innate mother energy draws people close, and I’ve informally adopted many people over the years who need extra nurturing. It’s been helpful in taking people deep into their subconscious because I can help them feel safe.

Besides those passions, I was marked at an early age by trauma when my mother died suddenly. Having no way to process my grief at the time, I stuffed it. In my late thirties I was finally ready to address it, and this was the beginning of my healing journey. Now that I understand the archetype of the wounded healer, I know that I arrived on this earth to be a healing guide for others, so I needed to start with myself.

I would describe myself as someone who sees the best in others, even when they can’t yet, encourages them to shine their light, and nurtures them along the process. I’m intuitive and aware that spiritual energy connects us all as we work through all our illusions of smallness and disconnection.

I believe that the world challenges we face have a foundation in trauma and so I am committed to helping people address and move beyond theirs so together we can elevate our collective consciousness and create a world that is more safe, kind, and beautiful--one where everyone gets to experience safety and love and has a way to give their gifts.

If you are feeling resonance with my story and the programs and products I’ve created, I would be honored to have a role in helping you see how much more wonderful you are than you may realize.
